Bently Nevada 330901-00-24-05-02-05 3300 XL NSv Electromagnetic Induction Proximity Probe Sensor Analysis
I. Product Positioning and Core Functions
The 3300 XL NSv eddy current proximity probe sensor is a high-precision sensor specially designed by Bently Nevada (now part of Baker Hughes’ Digital Solutions division) for industrial rotating machinery condition monitoring. It belongs to the NSv (narrow space vibration) model within the 3300 XL series. Its core functions include:
Vibration Monitoring: Real-time capture of shaft system vibration signals, supporting a frequency response range of 0-10kHz, covering low-frequency axial vibrations to high-frequency mechanical fault characteristics.
Displacement Measurement: Precisely measure axial position changes, with a linear range of 1.5mm (60 mils), suitable for axial displacement monitoring of fluid film bearing machines.
Small Space Adaptability: The end diameter is only 5mm, specially designed for narrow installation spaces of centrifugal air compressors, small water pumps, motors, etc.

Technical Characteristics and Advantages
High Precision and Stability
Sensitivity: 7.87 mV/μm (200 mV/mil) ± 6.5%, the output signal is proportional to the distance and has excellent linearity.
Temperature Range: The probe operates within a temperature range of -52°C to +177°C. The high-temperature option supports +218°C (probe) and +260°C (cable), suitable for extreme industrial environments.
Interference Resistance: The dual-layer shielding design is adopted, and it has passed international certifications such as EN55022 (radiation) and EN61000-4-2 (static discharge). It can be installed in a glass fiber housing without being affected by radio frequency interference.
Modular and Interchangeability
The probe, extension cable, and preamplifier (Proximitor) support complete interchangeability, eliminating the need for separate calibration and reducing maintenance costs.
The system length can be selected as 1 meter (only probe), 5 meters, or 9 meters (including extension cable), meeting the needs of different installation scenarios.
Explosion-proof and Safety Certification
The suffix “-05” or “-CN” indicates multi-permit agreement certification (such as CSA, ATEX, IECEx), suitable for hazardous areas such as chemical, petroleum, and natural gas.

Typical application scenarios
Rotating machinery monitoring
Steam turbine/steam generator: Monitor shaft vibration and differential expansion to prevent rotor imbalance, shaft bending, etc.
Fans/compressors: Obtain real-time radial vibration, amplitude and axial position of the shaft to detect potential faults in advance.
Pumps/electromotors: Suitable for vibration monitoring of small equipment to ensure stable operation.
Reciprocating machinery monitoring
Screw rod position measurement: In reciprocating compressors, monitor the lowering position of the piston rod to ensure equipment safety.
Precision equipment monitoring
Precision machinery: Applicable to equipment with strict requirements on installation space, such as small gearboxes, centrifuges, etc.
