Description
The Bently Nevada 3500/25 Enhanced Phase Comparator Module is a half-height, dual-channel module designed to provide phase comparator signals to the monitor module within the 3500 rack. It supports precise timing measurement and vibration monitoring, and features enhanced signal processing capabilities and high compatibility.
Core Function
Phase Comparator Signal Conversion
Receive input signals from proximity probes or magnetic pickups and convert them into digital phase comparator signals, indicating the moment when the phase marks on the shaft align with the sensor.
Phase comparator signals are pulses generated by the rotating shaft or gears for precise timing detection.
Multi-Signal Support
Standard Configuration: The 3500 mechanical protection system can accept up to 4 phase comparator signals.
Paired Configuration: By monitoring two consecutive positions (such as upper/lower slots or two half-slots), up to 8 phase comparator signals can be accepted.
Each module can accept up to 2 sensor signals (from proximity probes or magnetic pickups).
Redundant Design
In triple-module redundancy (TMR) applications, two phase comparator modules need to operate in parallel to provide primary and auxiliary phase signal inputs for other modules in the rack.

Configuration flexibility
Module combination
Supports a configuration of 2 coupled modules + 1 non-coupled module, meeting diverse needs.
Users can achieve flexible deployment by ordering different channel options (such as two 2-channel or one 1-channel + one 2-channel).
Isolated I/O module
Suitable for scenarios where multiple devices need to connect key signals simultaneously, or where isolation from other systems (such as control systems) is required.
The main objective is to measure shaft speed, while also supporting phase measurement (but introducing a slightly larger phase shift)
