Description
3500/60 provides six temperature monitoring channels and accepts a resistance temperature detector (RTD) and thermocouple (TC) temperature input. The module adjusts these inputs and compares them with user-programmable alarm set points. 3500/60 and 3500/61 provide the same function, except that 3500/61 provides recorder output for each of its six channels, while 3500/60 does not.
The user uses the 3500 rack configuration software to program the module to perform RTD or TC temperature measurement. Users can configure the RTD/TC non-isolated version to accept TC or RTD, or a mixture of TC and RTD inputs. RTD/TC non-isolated or TC isolated versions provide different I/O modules. The TC isolation version provides 250 Vdc channel-to-channel isolation to prevent external interference.
When used in a triple modular redundancy (TMR) configuration, the temperature monitors must be installed next to each other in groups of three. When used in this configuration, the system uses two voting methods to ensure accurate operation and avoid single points of failure.
