Description
Any FBM (except FBM232/233) can be removed from the modular baseboard without removing or disturbing the wire terminals or internal cable terminals or connections of external field devices.
FCP and FCM need to remove the wiring with the control network.
The length of shielded twisted-pair cables used for modular backplane interconnection varies from 0.25 m (10 in) to 60 m (198 ft). The maximum twisted-pair cable length connecting all baseboards is 60 m (198 ft).
The following shows the selected modular base plate for vertical DIN rail mounting. The style of the modular base plate for horizontal DIN rail mounting is similar to that of the vertical base plate, but not all equivalents for each style are available. reference

MODULE IDENTIFICATION
Identify the FBM, FCM10E or FCM10Ef installed on the baseboard into the system software through a unique 6-character string (called “litterbug”). Most boards that support FBM include a DIP switch to help set up this bug for FBM.
The littering of FCP270, FCM100Ets, and FCM100E is soft littering input using I/ASeries® Letterbug Configurator.
The litterbug string for a particular FBM when used with FCMs is established from these three factors:
1. The first four characters of FCM10E, FCM10Ef, FCM100Et, or FCM100E garbled.
2. The FBM board number in the group is set by the board identification (I.D.) DIP switch on each board. Unless otherwise stated in the following sections, it should be assumed that the backplane has this switch.
3. The physical location of the module on the baseboard (1-8).
