The G60 is designed for various power applications, including autotransformers, generator step-up transformers, split-phase, angle regulating transformers and reactors. It uses multiple current and voltage inputs to provide primary protection and backup protection of transformers, including differential, ground differential, five distance zones, phase, neutral, and ground overcurrent, under and overvoltage, under and overfrequency, over-fluxing, and breaker failure.
Key Benefits
- Secure high-speed protection for transformers, compliant with IEEE C37.91
- Advanced IEC 61850 Ed. 1 and Ed. 2 certified implementation, complete settings via SCL files and flexible process bus support (IEC 61850-9-2LE, IEC 61869 or IEC 61850-9-2 Hardfiber) ensures interoperability, device managing optimization and reduced cost of ownership
- Routable GOOSE (R-GOOSE) enables GOOSE messages going beyond the substation, which enables wide area protection and control applications
- Improved security for transformer energization and inrush provided through an adaptive 2nd harmonic restraint algorithm and an independent harmonic detection element
- Three independent fiber or copper Ethernet ports for simultaneous/dedicated network connections with advanced 1 microsecond time synchronization via LAN with IEEE 1588 support
- Sensitive ground fault protection provides low- impedance differential protection down to 5% of the winding to limit transformer damage
- Phasor Measurement Unit (synchrophasor) according to IEEE C37.118 (2014) and IEC 61850-90-5 support
- Advance Cyber security features “CyberSentryTM” that helps meet modern industry requirements
- Application flexibility with multiple I/O options including high density I/O, programmable logic, modularity, and specific customization
- An integrated large, full color display, provides real-time visualization and control of the protected bay, via a bay mimic as well as annunciator functionality and graphical visualization of phasors
Applications
- Transformer asset monitoring using loss-of-life, aging factor, hottest spot
- Applicable for transformers with up to six windings in a ring bus or breaker-and-a-half configuration
- Reliable and secure protection for three-phase transformers, autotransformers, reactors, split-phase and phase angle regulating transformers
- Stand-alone or component in automated substation control system
