Product Description

ALSTOM (formerly Converteam) FV223-M2 is an Exciter Diode Failure Detector for Gecostat excitation systems. M2 denotes the hardware revision. It monitors the rotating rectifier diodes of synchronous generators continuously, detecting open-circuit and short-circuit faults of diodes. It is equipped with per-channel LED indicators and provides alarm relay dry-contact outputs to the excitation regulator and DCS system. It prevents severe failures such as overheating and loss of excitation caused by rectifier faults. It is a critical spare part for legacy Alstom excitation systems deployed in thermal and hydro power plants.
