lstom UT129-C1 (Standard Part Number: UT129C-1)
I. Basic Classification
Original Manufacturer: Alstom, the automation business was later split to Converteam (now belongs to GE Energy)
System: ALSPA CE2000 power plant-specific DCS/PLC control system, not a frequency converter driver board. Some merchants on the market wrongly label the inverter board as such.
Product Status: Originally permanently discontinued by the manufacturer, only spare parts from disassembly, refurbished repair parts, and a small amount of inventory circulation exist.
Core Positioning: Main controller CPU board with WorldFIP bus interface, the core computing unit for furnace safety FSSS and auxiliary equipment sequence control in thermal power boilers
Core Hardware Specifications
Power Supply: DC24V backplane power supply
Program/Data Memory: 32MB
Physical Structure: 6U VME standard rack front-mounted hot-swappable card, equipped with a heat sink and status indicator light
Operating Environment: -20℃ ~ +60℃, installed in a cabinet with IP20 protection
Certification: CE, UL, meeting the safety control specifications for thermal power plants
Support for Storage: On-board programmable PROM program chips U029, U030, storing the control logic of the unit

Three Core Functions
1. WorldFIP Field Bus Master Station (Core Differentiating Feature)
Bus Rate: 1Mbps, shielded twisted-pair copper cable medium
Function: As the main communication gateway for the controller and remote IO racks, and on-site instruments
Limitation: Cannot be used in the same network segment with the UT150 series fiber optic WorldFIP CPU, the physical layer of the protocol is incompatible, and mixed connection will directly cause the bus to fail
2. IO Rack Management
The UT129C-1 single block can manage up to 16 local DI/DO/AI/AO IO modules, completing:
Periodic collection of switch quantity, analog quantity process signals
Output regulation instructions to regulating valves, motors, and solenoid valves
Full-channel fault diagnosis for short circuits, breaks, and module offline
3. Real-time Control Calculation
Independently execute the entire control logic:
Furnace safety monitoring FSSS, fuel/gas ignition interlock, MFT main fuel trip protection
Sequence start-stop of fans, pumps, and coal feeders, fault interlocks
Multi-loop PID temperature, pressure, and flow regulation
Event Sequence Recording SOE, accurately capturing millisecond-level fault sequences
Onboard Communication Interfaces
WorldFIP Bus Interface (DB9 terminal, connecting to on-site IO)
RS232 Debug Serial Port: Program loading, online monitoring, export of fault logs
Backplane Parallel Bus: High-speed data interaction with the rack power supply, IO board card
Expansion support for Modbus RTU, connecting to upper-level HMI, third-party recorders
Comparison with the Same Series CPU Table
Model Bus Medium Applicable Scenarios
UT129C-1 (UT129-C1) Copper Cable WorldFIP 1Mbps Conventional boilers, auxiliary machine control cabinets (mainstream models)
UT150-1 Fiber Optic Long-distance multi-unit, cross-room expansion
Typical Industry Applications
Thermal Power Plants: Boiler FSSS, MFT safety protection, coal grinding system, desulfurization and denitrification control
Metallurgical heating furnaces, coking furnaces safety interlock systems
Maintenance and replacement spare parts for old power plants’ ALSPA CE2000 control cabinets
