Eaton MPB1-TP Profibus DP Master Communication Card

I. Basic Positioning
MPB1-TP is a PROFIBUS DP Master expansion board specifically designed for Eaton Micro Panel MC2 series controllers. It is only compatible with the MC2 industrial control host slot. Its function is to enable the MC2 controller to directly act as a Profibus master station, and to mount DP slave modules, frequency converters, instruments, and remote I/O to achieve multi-node fieldbus communication.
Standard: Follows the EN50170 Profibus international standard, and belongs to rack-mounted card-type communication expansion board.

READY (Yellow)
Constantly on: Module initialization complete, ready to load configuration
Flashing: Downloading bus parameters / program
RUN (Green)
Periodic flashing: Normal Profibus bus communication
Irregular flashing / off: Hardware failure, no configuration, bus interruption
ERROR (Red)
Off: No bus fault
Constantly on / flashing: Bus disconnection, slave station lost, communication error
STATUS (Yellow)
On: Module holds bus token, sending and receiving data
Off: No bus token, offline

Key Specifications: Terminal resistors must be connected at both ends of each bus segment. At most 2 active terminals are allowed. At least one end is powered by the station.

Installation Method: Insert only into the internal expansion slot of the Micro Panel MC2 host. Must be powered off before insertion and removal.

Core Functions
Profibus DP Master
One MC2 host, when equipped with DPM-MC2, can support dozens of DP slave stations (IO, drives, instruments), performing periodic high-speed read and write of process data.
Diagnosis Reporting
Slave station disconnection, bus short circuit, configuration mismatch, card hardware failure are all uploaded to the MC2 controller. The upper computer can read the fault codes.
Online Bus Configuration
Load GSD files through Eaton Automation software, and scan all DP slave stations on the bus in one click, allocate addresses and process image areas.
Bus Redundancy Compatibility
Can be combined with Profibus repeaters to extend bus distance, branch topology, and support multi-segment bus networking.
Real-time Data Exchange
Process data is mapped to internal registers of the MC2, and the program directly reads and writes analog quantities, digital quantities, and frequency converter parameters from the DP slave stations.
