Product Description

GE MULTINET-FE (GE Vernova / GE Multilin) is an industrial hardened Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP/IP serial-to-Ethernet communication gateway. The FE variant integrates both 10BaseT copper port and 10BaseF multimode fiber port. It supports up to 32 RS485 Modbus RTU IEDs and power meters, converting serial bus data into Ethernet packets and allowing simultaneous access from multiple SCADA masters. Designed for harsh utility environments with high EMI immunity, configured via EnerVista software, it is a widely adopted gateway for power protection device networking.

Application

Deployed in power substations, power plants, distribution rooms and renewable energy sites. It pairs with GE Multilin protection relays, PQM power quality meters and feeder IEDs to connect legacy RS485 serial devices into SCADA / DCS networks. It transmits remote status, measurements, protection alarms and fault records. Fiber option is preferred for long-distance links and locations with heavy electromagnetic interference requiring galvanic isolation.
