Product Description
Model: GE SR489-P5-LO-A1-E (GE Multilin, now GE Vernova), SR489 series digital generator management protection relay, discontinued. It adopts draw-out chassis structure, integrating comprehensive generator protection, power metering, fault waveform recording and communication functions for small and medium synchronous / induction generators. It includes stator differential protection, 100% stator earth fault, negative sequence overcurrent, loss of excitation, over/under voltage, over/under frequency and reverse power protection. Up to 12 RTD inputs are available for stator and bearing temperature monitoring. It is equipped with RS232 and dual RS485 ports, supporting Modbus RTU and DNP3.0 protocols, IRIG-B time synchronization, fault oscillography and event logging. Front panel HMI facilitates parameter setting and status viewing. It serves as an integrated protection device for generator sets.

Application
Applied to captive power plants, combined heat & power, distributed energy, diesel generator sets and small hydropower stations for integrated protection & control of small-medium synchronous and asynchronous generators. It monitors voltage, current, power and temperature in real time. It triggers fast trip upon faults including short circuit, earth fault, loss of excitation, reverse power and overheating, meanwhile recording fault waveforms and event sequence. Connectable with SCADA system for remote monitoring, widely used for power plant retrofitting and spare part replacement of existing generator units.
