Brand: KONGSBERG (Consignor Marine)
Full name: Remote Multipurpose Processor – Remote I/O Processing Module
Parent system: K-Chief 500 / K-Chief 600, AutoChief 600 shipboard distributed automation RIO200 system
Installation method: DIN rail installation, deployed locally in the ship’s engine room or local control cabinet
Common specifications: RMP201-8 (8-channel general type), also RMP201-4 (4-channel streamlined version)
Core Functions
Multiple types of signal acquisition: 8 configurable channels, supporting thermal resistance RTD, thermocouple TC, 4-20mA, voltage, frequency, switch quantity, etc. for collecting on-site signals in the ship’s engine room such as temperature, pressure, liquid level, speed, valve status, etc.
Dual redundant CAN bus (RBUS): Transmits data to the central control RCU501 controller through the redundant ship’s field bus, automatically switches in case of bus failure, ensuring uninterrupted operation of the ship’s system.
Local alarm pre-processing: Equipped with signal filtering, over-limit judgment, millisecond-level timestamp event recording, generating alarms locally and uploading to the ship’s monitoring system.
Channel electrical isolation: Independent isolation for each channel, resistant to ship vibration, humidity, and strong electromagnetic interference, suitable for harsh ship conditions.
Local parameter storage: Range, alarm threshold, power-off preservation, and parameters can be directly downloaded and quickly put into use after module replacement.

Key Electrical Parameters
Power supply: DC 10~36V (common for ship’s 24V DC system)
Analog accuracy: 16-bit AD high-precision conversion
Operating temperature: -40℃ ~ +70℃, resistant to humidity, vibration, and salt fog
Communication: Dual redundant CAN RBUS bus
Protection level: IP20 (installed in the cabinet)
Power consumption: ≤3.5W
Panel Indicator Light Explanation
MSD: Module operation status indicator, constantly on = normal operation, flashing = fault / communication abnormal
LSD: Bus communication indicator light, flashing indicates normal data reception and transmission
Typical Application Scenarios
Oceangoing ship engine room monitoring and alarm system (AMS), AutoChief 600 remote control system
Local signal acquisition expansion for bulk carriers, container ships, offshore platforms, FPSO
Measurement of cylinder temperature of the main engine, exhaust temperature, lubricating oil / cooling water pressure, tank compartment liquid level, valve feedback acquisition
Combined with RCU501 main control unit, realize ship distributed automation, significantly reducing long-distance wiring
