Rolls-Royce SLIO 02 (CANMAN Distributed I/O Node Module)
I. Basic Definitions
SLIO = Serial Link Input/Output, a dedicated distributed hybrid I/O communication module for the MTU/Rolls-Royce Marine ship power CANMAN system, used for automatic acquisition and control of diesel engines and gas turbines in the engine room. There is also SLIO 01 and SLIO 02 in the same series with larger channel capacity.
Function: Signal acquisition gateway in the engine room, converting sensor/actuator signals into CAN MAN bus data for uploading to the main control unit CCN.
Hardware I/O Channel Configuration (Terminal Partition)
The entire machine is divided into upper and lower layers for plug-in terminals, with mixed analog + digital + pulse channels:

Core Communication and System Architecture
Bus Protocol
Bottom layer CAN2.0B, upper layer CANMAN ship automation protocol, compatible with MTU/ROTOR engine CCN control system; compatible with the upper management network of the ship S-Bus.
Topology
Multiple SLIO02 are connected in parallel on the same CAN bus, distributed and locally collecting engine room signals, significantly reducing long-distance multi-core cables.
Real-time Performance
The fastest signal refresh cycle is 1ms, meeting the requirements for rapid response of engine speed and protection interlocks.
Diagnostic Function
Module panel status LED: power supply, CAN bus failure, module failure
Single-channel open circuit / short circuit self-check, fault codes uploaded to the upper computer through the bus
Channel overcurrent, reverse connection hardware protection
