Product Description
Woodward ProTech-GII (typical part number 8237-1600) is Woodward TMR triple modular redundant overspeed protection system with IEC61508 SIL-3 certification. It works as a standalone safety trip device independent of the main turbine governor. It consists of three fully independent modules A/B/C with 2-out-of-3 voting logic. Each module accepts speed signals from MPU magnetic pickup or eddy current probes. It provides overspeed protection, over-acceleration protection and speed loss detection with fast response. It supports online testing and hot-swap module replacement, compliant with API 670. It is equipped with local LCD display, relay trip outputs, 4-20mA analog speed outputs and Modbus communication. It is widely used for safety interlock protection of gas turbines, steam turbines, hydro turbines and other critical rotating machinery.
