ABB 3BHE024855R0101 (Board Type UFC921A101) is the INU inverter unit main control board for ABB ACS6000 medium voltage drives, the core computing board for inverter power unit. It receives modulation commands from upper ASUP main controller, executes DTC direct torque control algorithm and generates PWM / optical firing pulses to drive IGCT power devices. It samples DC bus voltage, bridge current and temperature signals in real time. Equipped with fast hardware protection, it detects overcurrent, overvoltage and short-circuit faults and immediately blocks pulses. Fault data is transmitted back to main controller via optical fiber bus. This board integrates multi-channel I/O, optical ports and hardware diagnostic circuits, rack mounted. Discontinued by ABB, it serves as critical spare for high-power medium voltage drive systems.

Application
UFC921A101 is installed inside the inverter cabinet of ACS6000 medium voltage VFD, acting as the core of inverter control. It receives commands from upper controller and sends optical trigger signals to IGCT GDU gate drive units to regulate motor torque and speed. It continuously monitors power circuit status and blocks firing pulses immediately upon faults to protect IGCT power semiconductors. Widely used for large compressors, mine hoists, cement main motors, marine propulsion, large fans and pumps in mining, metallurgy, oil & gas and power plants.
