Basic Positioning
ABB Symphony Plus DCS system-specific compact remote bus optical fiber relay module, specially designed to expand the HN800 IO bus of the SPC series controllers. It must be used in conjunction with the RMU610A installation base you previously queried. It focuses on long-distance and anti-interference redundant networking, and is frequently used in large-scale automation projects in power plants and chemical industries.
Core Function
Transparent bus extension: Plug-and-play without software configuration, the performance, function and local installation of the I/O module at the remote site are exactly the same as those in the local installation;
Optical fiber long-distance transmission: Compatible with 62.5/125μm multimode optical fibers, the farthest transmission distance of a single link is 3km, avoiding electromagnetic interference in industrial sites;
Network carrying capacity limit: A single remote link can accommodate up to 60 HN800 devices (SD series I/O, communication modules), and a single controller can expand up to 8 remote links;
Redundancy support scheme: The standard redundancy kit HRBX01K02 includes 2 cRBX01 + 1 RMU610A base. The two modules serve as hot backups for each other, and a single module failure does not interrupt the bus communication.

RMU610A is a dedicated installation base, responsible for fixing cRBX01, connecting power supply and bus wiring;
One RMU610A base can accommodate 2 cRBX01 modules, forming a complete redundant communication link, which is a classic combination for remote I/O substation of power plant units.
Typical Application Scenarios
Main control DCS substation of thermal power / hydropower, distributed remote measurement points station of chemical and metallurgical industries, used to solve the wiring problems where on-site equipment is too far from the main control cabinet and cables are prone to strong electric interference.
