Product Description
NSD570 (ABB, Hitachi‑Energy, part number 1KHW000600R0001) is a modular teleprotection system for high‑voltage transmission networks. It transmits protection commands (trip, block, permissive) between substations over analog, E1/T1 digital, fiber‑optic and Ethernet‑IP links. It supports both hard‑wired contact interfaces and IEC 61850‑GOOSE for digital‑substation integration. Up to 4 analog commands and 8 digital/Ethernet commands are available; each command can be independently set for direct‑trip, permissive or blocking mode. Comprehensive self‑supervision and link monitoring are built‑in. Configuration is performed via browser‑based HMI570 tool over USB / RS‑232. Single or redundant power‑supply options are supported, compliant with IEC 60834‑1. OEM end‑of‑life, supplied as legacy maintenance spare for power‑utility sites.

Product Application
- HV‑line pilot‑protection schemes: Transfer trip / block / permissive signals for POTT and DCB transmission‑line protection across substations.
- Legacy‑substation retrofitting: Drop‑in replacement for older teleprotection equipment, reuse existing carrier / E1 communication links.
- Digital‑substation deployment: GOOSE‑based teleprotection over IP‑networks for modern smart‑grid installations.
- Redundant protection link setup: Dual‑power and dual‑channel configurations for high‑reliability grid‑protection signalling.
- Utility‑site spare‑part replacement: On‑site unit swap to minimize transmission‑line protection outage duration.
