Product Description
ABB SPAM 150C-AB is a multifunction motor protection relay of SPAM150C series, order code RS641015-AB with normally closed (NC) trip contact, rated 50Hz, auxiliary supply 80~265V AC/DC. It is a microprocessor-based integrated motor protection relay. It measures 3-phase currents via CT inputs and integrates full protection functions including thermal overload, short-circuit, earth fault, phase unbalance, single-phasing, phase sequence, undercurrent and motor start supervision. It is equipped with LCD display and local setting keys, continuous hardware self-monitoring and serial communication interface for uploading measurements and fault events to SCADA. It is designed for medium & large 3-phase AC motors and can also protect feeders and small transformers. ABB discontinued this product in 2016. It is widely used as maintenance spare for motor circuits in power plants, chemical and water industries.

Product Application
It is installed in protection circuits of high/low voltage large 3-phase induction motors, working with circuit breakers or contactors. It continuously monitors 3-phase motor currents and simulates thermal accumulation. In case of overload, stall, phase-to-phase short, earth fault, single-phasing or wrong phase sequence, it outputs trip signal to cut off motor power and prevent motor burnout. It supports start supervision for ExE explosion-proof motors and can be applied for Zone1 hazardous area motors. Widely deployed in power plants, water treatment, chemical, mining and oil & gas projects for legacy motor protection retrofit and spare replacement.
