I. Product Introduction
TB840A is a ModuleBus optical cluster modem module, which realizes the optical-electrical signal conversion between the local electrical ModuleBus of S800 I/O and the optical ModuleBus for remote I/O stations, enabling long-distance and anti-interference networking. It supports 1+1 dual-link redundancy and can significantly extend the communication distance between the controller and the on-site I/O cabinets, avoiding ground loops and strong electromagnetic interference issues.
Core Functions
Optical-Electrical Signal Conversion
Converts the electrical ModuleBus in the cabinet to an optical bus, enabling high-speed data interaction between the remote S800 I/O cluster. Each I/O cluster can be connected with up to 12 S800 I/O modules, and each controller can be expanded with up to 7 groups of optical I/O clusters.
Dual-Fiber Redundant Communication
The module is equipped with 2 fiber SFP slots, and paired configuration can build A/B dual-fiber redundant links. In case of link failure, it automatically switches within milliseconds, meeting SIL3 safety systems, ESD interlocks, and other high-reliability scenarios.
I/O Cluster Isolated Power Supply
Provides isolated 5V working power for all S800 I/O modules in this cluster. It has built-in hardware protection for short circuits and overcurrents. A single cluster power failure does not affect the operation of other I/O stations.
Real-time Bus Fault Diagnosis
Panel LED indicators monitor the power, ModuleBus bus status, and fiber transmission link faults in real time. Fault information is uploaded to the 800xA upper system for rapid location of fiber breakage, module failure, and bus abnormalities.
