Product Description

Schneider Sepam S42 is a medium-voltage feeder protection relay of Sepam Series 40, part number 59682, dedicated for substation incomer and feeder circuits. It is the upgraded version of S41, equipped with full voltage and frequency monitoring functions on top of directional phase overcurrent and directional earth fault protection. It integrates protection, metering, energy measurement, event logging, disturbance recording and logic control. It comes with front HMI, built-in Modbus RTU, optional Ethernet extension and logic equation editor, supporting circuit breaker control and fault data storage. Discontinued in Jan 2024, OEM technical support is available until the end of 2030. New surplus, refurbished and used spare parts are available on market for maintenance replacement of MV switchgears in power plants and petrochemical plants.

Application

It continuously monitors line current, voltage, frequency and energy. It trips rapidly for short circuit, overload, earth fault, abnormal voltage and frequency deviation, records fault events and waveforms, supports fault location and remote SCADA communication to guarantee safe and stable operation of medium voltage distribution network.
