Woodward 8237-1246 is an original bulkhead-mounted overspeed protection relay of the Woodward ProTech‑GII series, serving as a high-level safety protection device for industrial turbine units. Specially designed for steam turbines, gas turbines, hydro turbines, generator sets and high-speed rotating power equipment, it adopts a triple independent redundant monitoring architecture with 2-out-of-3 voting logic. It accurately detects equipment overspeed, over-acceleration and speed abnormality, triggering emergency trip interlock to prevent unit runaway and severe equipment accidents.
Compatible with MPU magnetic pickup speed sensor signals, the device integrates high-precision speed monitoring, acceleration judgment, online self-diagnosis and automatic overspeed testing functions, fully complying with SIS safety system specifications for high-risk industries such as power, petrochemical and metallurgy. With an IP56 industrial bulkhead enclosure, it features strong vibration and electromagnetic interference resistance, supporting 24/7 continuous operation.
