I. Basic Positioning
MVI56E-61850C = ControlLogix Rack-specific IEC61850 Client (Client) Communication Module
Produced by ProSoft, directly inserted into the backplane slot of Rockwell 1756 ControlLogix PLC/PAC, its function is to enable the AB control system to directly connect to all IEDs (protection relays, measurement and control devices, power quality monitoring equipment) in the intelligent substation that follow the IEC61850 standard.
Suffix Differentiation:
C = Client: PLC actively collects IED data and issues remote control instructions
S = Server: PLC provides data externally in the form of 61850 to the dispatching / comprehensive protection system

MMS Message Specification
Supports BRCB with buffered reports and URCB without buffered reports, receiving active transmission of IED telemetry, telemetry, and alarm events in real time
Supports remote control operations: direct / selective operation (SBO), configurable for normal / enhanced safety mode to issue control, remote adjustment instructions
GOOSE General Object-Oriented Substation Event
Supports GOOSE subscription (receiving trip / interlock signals) + GOOSE publication (PLC sends interlock instructions to the outside)
Maximum 8 GOOSE channels can be published by a single module; each IED can subscribe to a maximum of 4 GOOSE channels, with millisecond-level rapid interlock tripping
